Disney’s Contemporary Resort Gingerbread Display Expands to Include “Frozen Fever” Theme: Photos & Video
Hi everyone!
On the same day we visited Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House for the grand opening, we headed over to Disney’s Contemporary Resort to see what was new with the gingerbread display. Last year, Frozen took over, nestled inside of the background of it’s a small world. Over the past 7 or 8 years, there have been several different themes, but this year expanded upon the Frozen concept by adding a Frozen Fever component. You can read our article from last year with information about how the Frozen theme came about. We always enjoy seeing the talent of the baking team here.

There are signs in the resort letting guests know where to visit the Gingerbread Display, open from 10 a.m. through 10 p.m. each day. We haven’t found out the last day yet for this year.
The gingerbread display is inspired by Mary Blair and Frozen. The display includes 311 pounds of honey, 514 pounds of flour, 273 eggs, 222 pounds of icing, 423 pounds of chocolate, more than 1500 gingerbread shingles and more!
Here is our video of the display, followed by photos of our article (including the treats available!)
New to the display this year is this fun Olaf “sand” castle, with a sugar mix as the sand. Snowgies are also part of the display this year.

Olaf wears a pair of sunglasses.
Anna and Kristoff stand with the Frozen Fever cake between them.
Elsa tops the cake.
A snowgie stands between Elsa and Sven. We were told that Sven has three legs instead of 4 in a nod to the 5-legged goat that Mary Blair created for the mural at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
There are 15 hidden Olafs in the gingerbread.
Several hidden Mickeys are here as well.
There are many treats for sale, quite a few unique items to choose from. Included is this Peppermint Popcorn.
Olaf Gingerbread Shingles are back.
This was a favorite treat of ours last year, the Blue Raspberry Cake Gelato. You will see the Disney Dining Plan noted on many of the signs here.
Here is a look at the gelato, which is stored frozen in a case.

The gingerbread display is on the 4th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, next to the Fantasia store.
We will continue bringing you more resort displays as the season progresses! The resorts are often my favorite part of the holidays at Walt Disney World.
