Evan Longoria from Tampa Bay Rays Joins Carnival Cruise Line to Celebrate New Dr. Seuss Book “What Pet Should I Get”
Hi everyone!
We were invited aboard the Carnival Paradise a few days ago as the new Dr. Seuss book “What Pet Should I Get” was celebrated by Carnival Cruise Line. Evan Longoria from the Tampa Bay Rays was on hand to read the first Dr. Seuss book in 25 years to the SPCA’s summer camp and the Boys & Girls Club.
Three dogs that were up for adoption were brought up to the stage. The last one (in the first photo) wasn’t really sure about the stairs. It was really nice to see animal adoption being promoted, as there are so many animals available at shelters.
This little cutie was ready to be adopted.
It is hard to believe this collie is still available – all of the dogs were very well behaved as the event took place.
Seuss at Sea began last year, it is a terrific partnership between Carnival and Dr. Seuss Enterprises. We had the opportunity to experience the most advanced dedicated Seuss at Sea activities on the Carnival Freedom earlier this year.
Evan Longoria connected with the kids while reading the new Dr. Seuss book.
Here is our video of Longoria reading “What Pet Should I Get”.

Longoria became quick friends with the collie.
Carnival donated $5000.00 to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals – Tampa Bay as Longoria snuck a peek.
Carnival also donated $2000.00 to the Pet Pal Animal Shelter. In addition, Carnival will be matching Longoria’s donation of $100.00 to the Pet Pal Animal Shelter for every home run he hits during the 2015 season.
Sam I Am, Thing 1 and Thing 2, and Cat in the Hat take the stage.
We were happy to be invited to dine with the Seuss characters again after the event. This is the Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with Cat in the Hat & Dr. Seuss Friends.
Thing 2 poses.
Each character visits the table once. If you have a chance to enjoy the breakfast on a Carnival cruise, make sure to get enough photos when they stop by.
I passed up the parfait in January, but not this time – and I won’t in the future.
Green Eggs and Ham.
We enjoy the themed decorations and the Cat in the Hat ice sculpture.
Cat in the Hat looks like he walked out of a book.
Here is a look at our Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with The Cat in the Hat & Dr. Seuss Friends from January. It is one of my favorite character breakfasts, and only costs an additional $5.00 per person on Carnival Cruise Line.
