Four Seasons Resort Orlando Celebrates Kentucky Derby with Jockeys and Juleps Menu

The Four Seasons Resort Orlando enjoys a good celebration, and this time around it is for the Kentucky Derby on May 2nd, 2015! From 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., the resort will offer up special food and alcoholic beverages at PB&G (Pool Bar & Grill). We were there for Super Bowl Sunday and other events, and have had a great time! Prices are reasonable, with Kentucky Bourbon Brown Ales on tap for $4.00 and entrees beginning at $14.00. It’s off to the races for the 141st running of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 2, 2015 and Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort invites guests to break out their Derby hats and suit up in seersucker for a viewing party at PB&G from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm.

Enjoy watching the races from the restaurant televisions and sip on one of the beverage specials offered to revellers throughout the day. PB&G will debut its special bourbon in partnership with Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, with the traditional Jessie’s Mint Julep for USD 8. Take a “Tour of Kentucky” with bourbon flights and sample the PB&G bourbon from Four Roses, Buffalo Trace, Bulleit and Woodford Reserve. For the beer fan, Kentucky Bourbon Brown Ales will be on tap for USD 4 and local Fort Lauderdale brewery Funky Buddha will feature the hard-to-find More Moro IPA for the occasion as well.

Along with the bevy of drink options, PB&G will also offer a special Derby theme food menu to feast upon while the horses race down the stretch. The Derby theme menu includes items such as the must-try Hot Brown, an open-face roasted turkey sandwich with bacon and brown gravy for USD 19; burgoo, a traditional Kentucky stew served with corn bread for USD 14; and Chef Gerald Sombright’s fried chicken and oysters for USD 18. Don’t miss the special Derby gelato, made in-house for one day only, with butter pecan, bacon and PB&G bourbon, available for USD 4 per scoop.
Patrons sporting a Derby hat will receive USD 10 off their bill. A USD 20 “Pick the Winner” credit will be awarded to the attendee who successfully selects the winning horse, to use toward a future visit to PB&G. For a photo finish to the day, the patron wearing the best Derby hat chosen by the restaurant staff will win a cooking class with Chef Gerald Sombright, as well as a USD 50 credit for a future visit to PB&G.
