In Mousesteps Weekly #139, we talk about these topics:
The expanding Magic Kingdom hub. The Rose Garden is now closed as it is redesigned. Walt and Mickey are now visible, but they might be covered for a little while longer after the Spring Break crowds have left.
Aloha Isle and the Sunshine Tree Terrace, which have switched positions in Adventureland.
Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid, which was given some upgrades during a refurbishment this year.
Wishes Fastpass+ fireworks viewing in the East Plaza Garden hub section. We had a very good experience with this, enjoying the fireworks without too much crowding. We will be trying the Plaza Garden West side this weekend to test that side out.
Next we head to Downtown Disney as it quickly transforms into Disney Springs. We toured The BOATHOUSE restaurant, which is opening in April. While we don’t have any inside footage to show yet, we interviewed Steven Schussler from Schussler Creative, who has developed themed restaurants like Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex Cafe and Yak and Yeti. The BOATHOUSE will be an upscale waterfront restaurant.
Next, we head up in a Characters in Flight balloon to check out the view from above of Disney Springs. It is a fascinating look at how much still needs to be done. Disney Springs is due to be finished in about one year (Spring 2016).
Last but not least, we had a wonderful dinner at Ravello, located in the 5 Diamond Four Seasons Resort Orlando. The atmosphere is casual, the food is delicious and artistic.
