Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Photo Walk 2015; 250 Photos in Tour of Resort
Royal banners can be found in the courtyard. We pass here at 9:15 a.m.
A fountain with swirling trees creates a gorgeous setting.
Looking back, purple flowers make a bright accent.
Back on the path, we are heading toward Parterre Place.
We are still walking past Oak Manor.
Walking bridge for guests.
There is a quiet pool off the walkway.
We are arriving at Parterre Place.
A boat passes.
There is another courtyard for Royal Guest Rooms. These regal rooms take up about 25% of the resort! We did tour one when they first opened.
Briar Rose banner.
Belle.
This pretty fountain reminds me of one at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter, sans frogs.
This chair makes for a nice photo opportunity.
We are walking back out to the path.
If you are interested in seeing the different rooms, we posted a commentary that included the Royal Guest Rooms a few years back. The one difference I know of now is that there aren’t bedspreads anymore.
We are turning left, and end at the Parterre Place sign at 9:17 a.m. This walk took 21 minutes without stopping at about 3mph. While we stopped the timed portion of the walk, we will be continuing to the main building to look around.
It took me about 2 – 3 minutes from Parterre Place to walk to the front of Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside.
These are the front doors, though other doors include an entrance through Fulton’s General Store from the outside.
Guests can enjoy this foyer area if waiting for their room or just to relax, though I like the registration area even more.
Registration is through here.
There is plenty of seating.
Mickey can be found here.
Just as at other Walt Disney World resorts, children can watch television while parents check in.
We are heading back out into the foyer.
Fulton’s General Store is one of my favorite resort gift shops at Walt Disney World.
I wish all resort shops had such fun Disney figures!
Chip & Dale.
Goofy.
Huey, Dewey & Louie.
Here is our video of the characters in motion.
It is a large shop, and currently there is resort specific merchandise at the moderate resorts.
The River Roost bar includes ample seating, which guests use all day.
Boatwright’s Dining Hall is the table service restaurant. I haven’t dined here much since the 90’s, but tried it again last year (my food was average, but it is a very popular restaurant). Disney says about Boatwrights, “Hanging lanterns illuminate the cavernous dining hall, and the skeletal hull of a lugger fishing boat is suspended on high as its centerpiece”.
The Riverside Mill is probably my favorite Walt Disney World food court, except maybe for Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. They may have been the first to have create-your-options that include pasta.
Here are a couple of current breakfast menus.
The Riverside Mill artwork.
Guest seating area.
Guest ordering area. It does get very crowded at times.
Guests can walk outside from the food court.
It isn’t too often I walk out to the water wheel, but it is a nice vantage point.
I wanted to show the walkway that doesn’t go through the River Roost and Boatwrights, which is what most guests will take from the lobby.
Just head under the Food and Drink sign!
Passing the River Roost.
Walking past Boatwrights.
Which is your favorite Moderate resort? We plan to update our other Moderate resort walks in the next couple of months before tackling others in 2015!
