Epcot Preparing for Holidays Around the World as Decorations, Trees Start Appearing
Hi everyone!
Epcot Holidays Around the World begins on November 28th (10 days away!), and the park is getting ready with decorations and merchandise. Topiaries and other decor should be added in the upcoming week before Thanksgiving gives way to the seasonal celebration. There is already quite a bit to see, including merchandise that is popping up in shops around Epcot. Here is a look around the park!
Garland is draped across the entrance, and Christmas music plays.
Joyful! is back for another year at the fountain stage, with set times already listed.
The Christmas trees here always look festive.
We like to go to Epcot early in the morning, before it is too crowded.
The large Christmas tree is up at the entrance to World Showcase from Future World.
Here is a look toward Spaceship Earth.
We have had quite a few Christmas photos taken this year, including at the Epcot tree.
Garland adorns the entrances here.
Le Cellier entrance garland and wreaths.
Decorative moose figures can be found at the Canada pavilion.
The Mill Stage is ready for the holidays.
We have a video of the decorations (but keep reading for more photos!)
We stopped in at Northwest Mercantile, the shop in Canada.
Here is a Moose nightshirt that says “lighten up”.
Mugs are also available.
But if you are looking for a Grumpy bear, look no further.
Long pajamas have backs that say “Don’t Open Until Christmas”.
Merry X-Moose boxers.
Wreaths can be found around the pavilion.
It was quiet in the UK pavilion at around 9:30 a.m. World Showcase doesn’t open until 11:00 a.m., but guests can enjoy breakfast during morning hours at Les Halles Boulangerie in the France pavilion. It is a peaceful walk there early.
New for this year is this holiday display in the UK pavilion, a teapot and saucers (I had never heard of the word “Spode” until after I posted it on Instagram).
This is the view of it from the other side.
Poinsettias.
Peppermint candy decorations were added last year, and those can be found again on the bridge between the UK and France.
The Eiffel Tower with a peppermint candy in the foreground.
The France pavilion looks gorgeous with all the ponsettias and decorations.
It is hard to get a view like this with few guests in the photo unless stopping here very early in the morning.
The large Eiffel Tower ornament that was new for last year is in a perfect spot.
Nearby is the Arc de Triomphe.
A butterfly enjoys the flowers with the France fountain in view.
Snowflakes (new last year) are hung between Monsieur Paul and Les Halles Boulangerie.
Poinsettias were still damp from the morning.
Across from the America pavilion, Spaceship Earth can be seen in the photo with the Christmas tree.
Disney’s Candlelight Processional is a favorite of ours, and begins November 28th. We try to never miss Marlee Matlin with her interpreter Jack Jason when they are narrating. Steven Curtis Chapman is also a must-see.
Garland and a Christmas tree are up now. There is usually a winter village as well.
Inside of the American Adventure rotunda, Christmas trees and garland create a festive atmosphere.
In the Mitsokoshi store in Japan, there are a few holiday items. Monchhichi dolls with Christmas sweaters are adorable!
And Hello Kitty is ready for the holiday season.
Pokemon winter hats.
Garland in Italy.
Germany is one of my favorite countries at Epcot for Christmas!
Stop in the Germany Christmas shop for delicious holiday goodies to bring home.
I wouldn’t even know where to start, there are so many great choices.
Karamell-Küche.
Garland below these German statues.
Norway isn’t as busy right now with Maelstrom being switched to a “Frozen” theme, but decorations can be found all over the pavilion.
Santa looks on as the former Maelstrom waterfall still flows.
A viking gets into the holiday spirit.
The Fjording.
We were slowed down a bit by a character visit with Launchpad McQuack! He rarely visits with guests, so it was nice to find him.
Shops that weren’t open when we began our walk around World Showcase were open by the time we finished.
Christmas tree.
Eiffel tower with garland beneath it.
It was a gorgeous day.
This Mickey floral has been installed for weeks.
The front entrance gets ready for the display that should be placed here soon.
We look forward to Holidays Around the World every year! What do you most look forward to seeing?
