Discovering Marvel on the Disney Magic Cruise – From Avengers Academy to Shawarma!

Hi everyone!

Last month, we sailed on the re-imagined Disney Magic. For guests who might enjoy the Marvel Avengers Academy and meeting Captain America, it is a Marvel-ous cruise! Here is how you can find Marvel on the Disney Magic.

The Marvel Avengers Academy is located in the Oceaneer’s Club for kids ages 3-12, but it is also available for anyone to participate during Open House times. We stopped by before the ship sailed, and not too much was going on yet. This is an interactive area that includes Iron Man’s suit, Captain America’s shield, and Thor’s hammer. Next time we are on the Disney Magic, we will head there during a mid-cruise Open House.

Kids can play on computers here, but there are also activities scheduled each day.

On our Marvel quest, we found Captain America greeting guests. On this day, the film Captain America: Winter Soldier debuted (on land as well as on the ship).

Captain America did push-ups with a young guest.

We enjoyed posing with Captain America!

We were suprised to find not only Avengers Academy merchandise for kids, but also for adults in the shops. Jeff purchased this shirt, which is a Disney Cruise Line shirt, we both found it interesting that the tags were Marvel and not Disney.

This is a newer addition to the Disney Magic, shawarma. At the end of the film The Avengers, the team goes out for shawarma. Actually, I’ve always thought that vertical meat was gyros (at least it was in Paris), I looked it up and the two seems pretty interchangeable. This was a beef-lamb mixture. We were told that there was chicken shawarma too, but we never saw it out.

The shawarma is put into a pita pocket.

Jeff enjoyed it while we were in Nassau!

Guests seeking to find a Marvel experience on the Disney Magic Cruise don’t have to look too hard!
