Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Audio-Animatronics Photos, Video: Imagineers Share How Seven Dwarfs Look Like They “Jumped Off Of Screen”

Hi everyone!

As the date for the opening of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train gets closer, Disney has released a YouTube video showing more about how the audio-animatronics work. It is pretty impressive, and we look forward to seeing the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train inside for ourselves!

All images in this article are from Disney (several are stills from the video).

Several Imagineers speak about creating the Audio-Animatronics in this video, including Ethan Reed. He talks about how they worked closely with Walt Disney Animation to make the Seven Dwarfs as close to the original concept as possible. Reed says, “We studied how these dwarfs behaved, their facial features when they’re speaking or singing…we can really make these characters look like they have jumped off the screen”.

Here is a video we posted last week of Dopey riding the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!

We have been following the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for several years, we shared the first wall concept art in January of 2011 and spoke with Imagineers about it at the D23 Expo that year. In the past few years, our Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coverage has reached at least a half million views – all that before the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train has opened. It certainly would be placed in our top 10 stories of the past year. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is very close to opening now, but no date has still been announced.
