Disney’s Polynesian Resort Disney Vacation Club Update – Bungalow Construction; Moana Mickey’s Arcade Closed
Hi everyone!
We were at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort on Monday to photograph the beautiful chocolate Easter egg display, and walked over to Disney’s Polynesian Resort to see what has changed – and what has not yet changed.
This is the view while walking over from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort of the bungalows/Grand Villas.
From the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, you can see this bungalow roof being worked on.
A green construction fence blocks what used to be Sunset Point.
Here is a video of the bungalow construction:

This pathway has been blocked for at least a couple of weeks now.
Moana Mickey’s Arcade is closed. Remember Moana Mickey’s Fun Hut? It was the arcade that used to be next to the Tangaroa Terrace. I spent a lot of time there in the 70’s and 80’s, when I wasn’t wanting to go to the Fiesta Fun Center at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Those were the days! I don’t know what the arcade is being refurbished as.
Captain Cook’s keeps receiving reprieves, it was supposed to close at the end of March, and it was supposed to close today. But like Monday in these photos, it is still open for business. Captain Cook’s will close any day, and the lobby fountain was still not boarded up – but again, that will happen soon.
There will be no Dole Whip apparently at the temporary counter service location, so we purchased and made one. I don’t know if the self-serve Dole Whip will be back – so Jeff made sure to create a tall one.
Here is a look in Captain Cook’s.
