Disney’s Polynesian Resort DVC Bungalow Construction, March 2014
Hi everyone!
We posted an updated on Disney’s Polynesian Resort last week, but I was there yesterday before and after Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade and wanted to share some photos of the bungalows that are being constructed.
The waterfall in the lobby was still there (no construction walls), and the door was open on the Cast cafeteria, which was being painted to make way for a quick-service location when Captain Cook’s goes under rehab later this month.
We will continue to post photo updates, but for the latest news, be sure to follow the Tikiman pages!
Here are photos from the beach and water of the Disney Vacation Club bungalow construction. It looks like at least the ground floor of the Hawaii building will be blocked by the bungalows, I’m not sure if other levels as well. I looked on Tripadvisor to see what guests were saying about the resort and construction, but the reviews for Disney’s Polynesian Resort are still overall positive, and the construction didn’t even factor into most comments. If you are wondering whether you should stay there for your Walt Disney World vacation this year, guest reviews are a great barometer – the more recent, the better.
Disney’s Polynesian Resort will be quite different in a couple of years, I will miss quite a few aspects of it that I’ve enjoyed since the 70’s, but I’m hopeful that Disney will create a resort experience that I will enjoy equally as much.
