Downtown Disney Photo Update From Pontoon Boat as Disney Springs Nears One Year Since Announcement
Hi everyone!
We rented a pontoon boat from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort today on the last day of boat rentals from the resort, and were suprised to find that Downtown Disney was accessible – even with construction, we were able to drive the boat to the Downtown Disney Marketplace. It was interesting to see how much has changed even in the past week, including the removal of the Downtown Disney Marketplace boat dock.
Here are photos from today!
Here is our video from today:
The Rainforest Cafe.
This is where the Marketplace dock was just about a week ago, the last time we rode boat transportation from the Marketplace to Pleasure Island.
We stopped by Downtown Disney yesterday, and noticed the walls now extend from Bongos Cuban Cafe’ to Characters in Flight (prior, the walls were from the upcoming Starbucks to Characters in Flight). Then the walls continue around Pleasure Island.
Characters in Flight and Fulton’s Crab House as seen from the water.
A bridge is being built from Downtown Disney to Saratoga Springs.
We enjoyed our pontoon boat ride, I hope Disney reconsiders and eventually rents them again from the moderate resorts.
Disney Springs is to open in stages. It was announced nearly a year ago, and should be finished in 2016.
