Downtown Disney Photo Update – Christmas Decorations, Disney Springs Construction
Hi everyone!
I spent the morning a few days back at Downtown Disney and have an update to share.
As you can see, the parking lot was empty – with all the construction going on, I definitely recommend arriving very early if possible. A lot of the parking lot is currently closed. This was sometime around 9 a.m., and by 11:00 a.m. it was full as I left.
Santa Mickey always welcomes guests to the Marketplace during the holiday season!
Santa’s chalet has a “Frozen” theme around it this year.
Olaf, Kristoff, Elsa and Anna are on these signs. We loved “Frozen”! The film has taken over the parks as well (including Anna and Elsa meeting at Epcot and concept art at Disney’s Hollywood Studios). Now it’s at Downtown Disney too!
Deer always seem to signify the Christmas season, and there are plenty at Downtown Disney.
I left before Santa arrived. These are his greeting times.
The Olaf here isn’t animatronic, but it was still nice to get my photo taken with him!
Santa’s throne.
More deer with Characters in Flight lifting off behind them.
A Snowman and woman are ready for photos! Each has Hidden Mickeys within their clothing and hats.
This is the Christmas tree near Earl of Sandwich. Remember when it was toy themed?
The most popular photo on my Instagram that day was these Mickey topiary heads on sticks.
Pluto, Goofy, Mickey and Donald sing Christmas carols.
The Marketplace marina is gone.
These fun winter shirts were also a hit on my Instagram! They have sweater patterns, but are t-shirts.
I also purchased this pendant during the Freeman Family event. I used to have jewelry like this when I was a kid, and I’ve been looking for the design for many years! The price has gone up – when I was young, it was like $4 for a necklace or earrings. The pendant was $95 for sterling silver and is part of the Disney Dream collection.
Festival of the seasons sign.
Construction at Pleasure Island extends the entire route.
Paradiso 37 with Characters in Flight behind it.
There is concept art for the future Disney Springs along the walls.
Starbucks will be opening here in the spring.
This looks like it will be a huge Starbucks shop!
Families gather on the lawn for Festival of the Season photos.
I used to walk back to my car the quicker way, along the sidewalk in the parking lot. Currently that is not possible.
There is a House of Blues sign to let guests know that it is still open.
There is a walkway around Pleasure Island, also with concept art.
Raglan Road serves a Rollicking Raglan Brunch every Sunday.
And there used to be cases at Downtown Disney that featured different religious holidays. Now, they are in windows facing the parking lot.
Hannukah is one of the celebrations depicted.
The Day of Three Kings.
And Christmas. There are others too, it’s nice the displays are still here even though they are a little harder to find.
We talk about Downtown Disney in this week’s Mousesteps Weekly #80 show, along with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Candlelight changes, and Christmas at Epcot.
