Disney “Frozen” Segment Debuts in Celebrate the Magic Projection Show at the Magic Kingdom
Hi everyone!
The Frozen segment of the Celebrate the Magic projection show on Cinderella Castle debuted yesterday to all Magic Kingdom guests (it actually was first shown one day earlier to guests at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party). We have photos and video from yesterday!
We really loved the film, and have quite a bit of coverage from around the Walt Disney World parks (and from D23) of Frozen. Three out of 4 parks have something Frozen related in them, and I’ll list those at the end of the article! These photos are from two showings. If you are there for the Wishes fireworks show and Celebrate the Magic is playing twice, we highly recommend waiting for the second showing. It was much less crowded, and only about 45 minutes later yesterday than the first showing.
The Frozen segment replaced Brave. It features Elsa (Idina Menzel) singing “Let it Go”, a powerhouse song from the Frozen soundtrack. Cinderella Castle turns blue and purple with ice, and Elsa is the star here, but Anna is shown as well.
Here is the segment on video:
The young sisters even built an Olaf the snowman in the film, before meeting him later in life.
And during Wishes yesterday, it was the first time I’ve ever seen the Christmas lights turned on during part of the show. There seemed to be a new lighting package during and after the fireworks!
The holiday segment of Celebrate the Magic is at the end. Cinderella Castle turns into many forms of holiday fun – including gingerbread, a gift, and the Cinderella 25th Castle Cake!
It’s definitely worth seeing if you are in the Magic Kingdom! I expect Frozen to be hugely popular – the characters, the show segment, the film, everything!
I mentioned earier that Frozen was in 3 parks. Anna and Elsa are currently greeting in Epcot’s Norway pavilion through early January. This is our video of them from a preview at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (we have photos and video of them also in their Norway location).
