Disney’s Polynesian Resort – Sunset Point DVC Construction Update

Hi everyone!

We stopped by Disney’s Polynesian Resort today, and found that Sunset Point – which lost it’s palm trees last week – is having some sort of dock being put in. This area is being prepped for the upcoming Disney Vacation Club bungalows that will be part of the DVC expansion at the resort. Construction equipment has been busy here over the last couple of weeks.

You can find out more about the Polynesian Resort DVC on the Tikiman Pages, I’ve been sending guests to his site for years for a reference on the resort. From what I understand, the resort will also be renamed Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, which is what it was called when I stayed there each year in the 70’s/80’s with my family. I will miss Sunset Point, it holds a lot of memories.

Last week, the Disney Vacation Club added it’s newest resort on the monorail, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. We are still adding articles and videos from the Grand Opening, but here is the ribbon cutting with Mickey and Minnie.
