Downtown Disney Photo Update – Amazing Chalk Art, Halloween Decorations, Merchandise
Hi everyone!
Jeff headed to the Expedition Everest Limited Time Magic tour this morning while I was volunteering at Give Kids the World, and we met over at Downtown Disney to see what was new. I hadn’t expected the Limited Time Magic chalk art displays to be so detailed and vibrant, and was so impressed by how much work went into art that will only be there for a few days. I wanted to share some of that, along with Halloween decorations and new merchandise!
First, the sidewalk chalk art. From what I understand, we will see more of the same at the Festival of the Masters, which we usually aren’t able to make it to (hopefully this year). It rained not long after we were there, but it didn’t seem to be ruining the artwork. But I can’t imagine it will last too long, as guests walk over it.
This artwork has a panda on one end, and Mickey on the other.

Pinocchio with Gepetto, Jiminy Cricket, Figaro and Cleo:
Thsi Genie artwork was incredible! I didn’t quite understand how to get Jeff on the magic carpet.
“Roni’s Toys” include Mater, Woody, Stitch, Piglet, Tigger and Wall-E! You can also see a Mickey Mouse balloon to the side. Mickey Mouse, the Pixar ball, and a castle all surround the toybox.
This representation of Ariel is much more lifelike than the animated version.
This is one of my favorites, Walt drawing Steamboat Willie while Mickey looks on.
This is a homage to Tim Burton, and includes Jack Skellington, Frankenweenie, The Mad Hatter and Zero the dog.
This movie reel features The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Bambi, Steamboat Willie, Lady and the Tramp, and Snow White!
Captain Hook with Tick Tock Croc:
This 3D effect is really incredible to see in person!
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are on the side of DisneyQuest. A friend told us that this is paint, not chalk.
Best vacation ever!

Halloween decorations are up at Downtown Disney!
Pleasure Island is mostly just a “Walkway to Marketplace”. There is construction on Pleasure Island as it readies for Disney Springs.

Psychedelic style t-shirt:
We had never noticed the mural on the ceiling at World of Disney before. Jeff took this photo of the grasshopper and ants from Silly Symphonies.
This is also a LE 300 iPhone case.
Hitchiking Ghost antenna toppers:
Everyone seems to love these shirts! The artwork starts on the front, and finishes on the back. The Mickey shirt says “The Original” on the front, but if you turn the shirt around, you see that Oswald is holding the sign.

The “it’s a small world” iPhone 4 case includes some Disney characters like Ariel and Donald.

It was a dreary day today, but we enjoyed seeing the chalk art and decorations! Can you believe Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party debuted a month ago, and it’s only one month until Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party starts? The Halloween decor at Downtown Disney reminded me of that today. Crazy!
