SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular 2013 – Family Fun for Everyone!
Hi everyone!
SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular in now underway, offering gentle Halloween fun for families each weekend in October. And the best part about it? The event is free with your ticket or annual pass! Jeff and I are Platinum Passholders, and even though we were invited as media yesterday, everything we did was included with our pass.
What can you expect to find at SeaWorld’s Halloween Spectacular?
– Trick or Treating. This is available to adults and children alike! This year’s treats include Pop Chips, Mentos, Jelly Belly Candy Corn and MnM’s. While there are one or two small samples per station, it really adds up fast when walking along the Bayside Stadium path. Not only are there treats to enjoy, but entertainment along the walk includes mermaids, a variety of sea life characters, and Shamu in his Halloween finery! Storytelling is part of some of the character interactions, and very popular with young children. Where else can you talk and pose with a hammerhead shark and octopus?
– Cookie decorating and Penelope’s Party Zone. Guests can purchase cookies to decorate near Penelope’s Party Zone. Penelope’s Party Zone is where you can find Shamu, Dottie and other characters to dance with! There is a DJ, arts and crafts, and a lot of family fun.
– Sesame Street Countdown to Halloween. This is a tremendously enjoyable show, and our favorite part of SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular! Passholders can book ahead for the 12:30 p.m. show, though we went to a later one. The stage is decorated with pumpkins that include Ernie, Bert, The Count. There is a fantastic scene in the show that includes Elmo and Abby dancing with glow-in-the-dark skeletons. We then met The Count, Elmo and Zoe after the show (in part of the queue set up for the meet & greet). Platinum Passholder seating is available for the show.
Here is our video of the meet and greet with The Count, Elmo and Zoe! And the video below it includes much of the Sesame Street Countdown to Halloween show.
– Animal Encounters. This is just one of many reasons we enjoy SeaWorld so much! Along the Trick-or-Treat pathway, there was always at least one animal with a SeaWorld employee. We saw a bald eagle, a tiny owl, and an opposum yesterday.
– Merchandise. SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular t-shirts cost only $8.00 for children and $10.00 for adults!
– Guests can also book the Count von Count Spooktacular Breakfast, which is available each weekend. This is a buffet breakfast with The Count, Elmo, and more Sesame Street favorites. The cost is $24.00 for adults, $14.00 for children ages 2-9, and Pass Members receive a 20% discount. Find more details and reserve breakfast at SeaWorld.Com (or in person at the Information and Reservations counter).
