New Villains Segment for “Celebrate the Magic”; Halloween Decorations at the Magic Kingdom
Hi everyone!
The Villains segment of “Celebrate the Magic” debuted last night, with characters that include Ursula from “The Little Mermaid” appearing on Cinderella Castle. I took a handful of Halloween decoration photos as well – the decor is very similar to previous years (and isn’t quite finished yet), so I will add more details in a future article.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party starts on September 10th! I have 240 photos from 2012 here. This is our 7th year covering Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! I plan to have two articles up on September 11th – one with over 100 photos with videos, and another with tips on enjoying the 2013 Party.
Decorations and pumpkins greet guests at the entrance to the Magic Kingdom.
I like finding different photo angles, and this pumpkin on a lightpost has a Space Mountain background.
One of my favorite decorative pumpkins is the restroom directional pumpkin on the Main Street Firehouse. The hydrant is a fun one too!
Scarecrows are back in Town Square, in the location where the toy soldiers for Christmas should be in two months. Each scarecrow signifies someone on Main Street – whether it’s the band, or the Mayor of Main Street, or a Cast Member at the Emporium.
“See ya real soon!” pumpkins with Mickey heads are placed over the exit archway.
Another of my favorite pumpkins is this Snowman:
Mickey and Minnie Mouse in their Halloween finest are back in the Emporium windows:
The Main Street windows have some new decorations this year, including these pumpkins.

“Celebrate the Magic” replaced “The Magic, The Memories and You!” late last year. Seasonal segments have been part of the tradition for the shows, and this season it’s a Villains segment! Chernabog from “Fantasia”, Ursula from “The Little Mermaid” and Maleficent from “Sleeping Beauty” make appearances. This new segment will run through November 1st, 2013. It is about 2 minutes long – the one complaint I’ve heard is that it’s not long enough (I would love to have seen it take over the whole show as well!)

It’s hard to believe that Halloween time has already started at the Magic Kingdom! But at Costco a few days ago, Halloween was already on clearance and Christmas merchandise stocked the aisles – as much as I love Christmas, I am happy to be enjoying Halloween first. 🙂
