LEGOLAND Florida Celebrates Opening of The LEGO World of Chima – Photos, Video

Hi everyone!

Today we attended a media preview and ceremony for The LEGO World of Chima at LEGOLAND Florida! The centerpiece of the new land is The Quest for CHI, which is a gentle water ride (no drops) that WILL get you wet! In fact, just watching the boats go around will get you soaked as well, so definitely bring a poncho! The official opening date is tomorrow, July 3rd.

Today was definitely themed for a water ride – we had a lot of rain! It made the decision to ride very easy, and I’m glad we did – we had a great time.

There are several elements to The LEGO World of Chima at LEGOLAND Florida. The Quest for CHI is straight ahead when arriving to the new land.

General Manager Adrian Rogers braved the rain without an umbrella to introduce Laval the Lion and Cragger the Crocodile, who will also be part of the Legends of Chima TV series on the Cartoon Network beginning on July 10th. They will meet & greet with guests in Chima!

The opening ceremony included Laval the lion and Cragger the crocodile! Here is our video of the ceremony:

The queue is fairly simple, with interesting elements that include the entrance.

We rode The Quest for CHI 3 times – and by the third time, we really were enjoying the interactive aspect of the attraction. Is it intricately themed as other boat rides? No, but kids WILL love it. Adults will often love it too. Bring ponchos, because it is an extremely wet experience. There is one large fountain that soaks guests, and water cannons that shoot from boat to boat, from boat to sidewalk, and from sidewalk to boats. There are quite a few terrific LEGO models along the way.
