Disney’s Contemporary Resort Chocolate Easter Egg Displays Include Orange Bird, Rapunzel, Stitch
Hi everyone!
Disney's Contemporary Resort has some wonderful chocolate Easter eggs on display this weekend! Unlike Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, which has had their Easter egg display in the lobby for the last two years, these are scattered around the 1st and 4th floors (we were told the Concierge level has some too).
This is actually the way that Disney's Grand Floridian Resort used to offer their displayed eggs as well, until last year. We were told by the front desk that this was the first year that Disney's Contemporary Resort displayed eggs, but Cast Members inside The Wave said they've had the decorated eggs before. Either way, this is the first time we've seen them, and I always love finding detailed displays at the resorts!
Chefs from the resort create these lovely decorations! It would be nice to be able to purchase handmade chocolate goodies from the resort bakeries in the lobby during Easter, maybe one of these years that will be an option.
Jeff said he felt like we were on an Easter egg hunt, which we really were! We enjoy this way of displaying the eggs – it's easy to get up close to them (but they are more vulnerable to being handled too).
The first and last eggs we saw are our favorites! Check out our video after you finish the article.
The first egg displayed is an Alice in Wonderland themed egg, it includes the cards, Mad Hatter hat and the flowers have faces! The Chesire Cat is inside with his infamous grin. Even the Doorknob is here!
This large egg has Tinker Bell on top, and a smaller one has a beautifully designed lion family:
Rapunzel and Flynn Rider are painted on this egg:
Easter bunnies are scattered throughout:
A look at the lobby:
We were told at the front desk that The Wave had an Easter egg – they actually have several! The first display is a detailed Cinderella concoction:
My favorite inside The Wave is probably Stitch, with a lot of tiny details. You can see molded shells with pearls, along with a seahorse and a wave behind Stitch.
This chocolate display includes Donald Duck:
Upstairs at the Contempo Cafe, the displayed egg is more simple and elegant – I was a little short to notice the butterfly on it, but you can see it in our video.
Chef Mickey's has an egg behind the podium, which includes not only Chef Mickey, but Minnie waiting for him at the bottom. I think the ribbon is even made of chocolate!
There are three main eggs inside – one is nicely decorated with characters, and another is based on The Jungle Book:
This is a great display as well, with a ton of small details! Tiki Sam with the Orange Bird on his head, along with a tiki statue, a reference to the Zambezi Miss from the Jungle Cruise, and more.
Another decorative bunny:
Guests can also purchase Easter baskets at each resort.
Easter goodies:
And rabbits you can see all year round, in Mary Blair's mural:

Didn't the chefs at Disney's Contemporary Resort create some beautiful eggs?
Remember to check out our video! We are looking forward to spending Easter Day in the parks and resorts this year, it's become a tradition for us.
