10/21 Earl of Sandwich Now Offers Holiday Sandwich With Additional Holiday Meal Items
Hi everyone!
We'd gone to a Disney Parks meet-up yesterday to see the movie Wreck-It Ralph before heading over to the Earl of Sandwich with friends. I've been wanting to get over there for the Holiday Sandwich, it's a favorite of mine! Now, instead of just a sandwich, there are a number of holiday offerings.
The line inside Earl of Sandwich yesterday was the longest I've ever waited in, the restaurant was bustling! But I think most everyone knows that the line moves really quickly, it was less than 10 minutes until we ordered.
The Holiday Sandwich is always so popular with guests, but I noticed on the sign that there were other offerings being promoted this year. We ended up splitting a Turkey Chili ($2.99) and Peppermint Brownie ($1.99) in addition to our individual entrees (my Holiday Sandwich for $5.99, Jeff's salad for $5.99). We also received the AAA 15% discount off these prices. I did forget to request no mayonnaise and less cranberry sauce on my sandwich, but I'll remember next time!
There were a lot of Holiday Sandwiches being made while we were waiting in line.
The line actually backed up to Mickey's Pantry when we entered it!
Holiday Special signs:
The Holiday Sandwich is as good as always, with turkey, stuffing, gravy, seasoned mayonnaise and cranberry sauce. The sandwiches are made to order – I mentioned that I normally forego the mayonnaise and ask for light cranberry sauce.
I've never had chili at the Earl of Sandwich, nor have I ever had turkey chili. I wasn't sure quite what to expect, but it was delivered piping hot and delicious! It had more of a chili flavor than a turkey flavor, I'd not have known it was turkey chili just by taste. We will be back for it! The chili also came with a small roll that we used for dipping. The portion size was also a little bigger than I expected.
The last item we ordered was the peppermint brownie. Not only is it flavored with peppermint, but you can see they add candy cane pieces on top. This is SO good, you won't want to share it. And for $1.99, you don't have to!
With our AAA discount, our meals came to about $15.00 (we paid separately), no drinks ordered. It felt like we stuffed ourselves silly, but without breaking the bank. I would go back just for the chili and a brownie, although it'd be hard to pass up the Holiday Sandwich while there. We didn't try the Buffalo Chicken Wrap because it didn't sound like a holiday type item per se', but maybe sometime before January 6th (the last day of the Holiday Sandwich and other special items). Remember to sign up for the Earl of Sandwich E-Club, for a free birthday sandwich!
