9/29 Jack Skellington and Sally Greet Guests at Downtown Disney for Frankenweenie Weekend
Hi everyone!
We spent 3 hours in line yesterday during Frankenweenie Weekend to meet Jack Skellington and Sally at their first East Coast appearance! Jack and Sally are regulars at Disneyland's Halloweentime, but never at Walt Disney World. I am hoping that the huge lines will spur Walt Disney World to eventually add them!
Even Phineas and Ferb took quite a bit of time to make their way into the Disney parks, and now they are everywhere.
Frankenweenie Weekend is from the September 28th – 30th, 2012, 6pm-11pm.
We didn't realize how long the line for Jack and Sally was when we arrived. It was clearly long, but I've never waited 3 hours for characters (and rarely, if ever, for an attraction in my life). I'm glad we didn't know and waited it out. The first photos you'll see are daylight photos of Jack and Sally – it was 6:30 p.m. when we arrived.
Frank & Weenie and Franken-Fusion Lemonade were being sold during the event. We tried both. Jeff really enjoyed the Frank & Weenie and found it a reasonable (Disney) price for it – but, it's completely different than the Disney California Adventure Version. The one in California is actually much more creative, a pork sausage wrapped in bacon so that it looks like the stitches from Sparky. We didn't have the opportunity to try that one, unfortunately – we left Disneyland just days before Halloweentime! The Franken-Fusion Lemonade is a berry lemonade topped with Sprite, and includes a glow-cube.
It is now nighttime as we wait for Jack and Sally. Check out our video that includes Jack and Sally in the day and evening!
The girls in front of us had Jack and Sally's autographs:

We went to D-Street to look at the Frankenweenie merchandise, though we'd been told about some new Walt Disney shirts and checked them out. Here is one:

Remember to take a look at our video of Jack and Sally, Jeff did a tremendous job with it.
We went to a media preview of Frankenweenie a couple of nights ago, and I'll be posting a review next week. I do recommend the film, we both loved it! Frankenweenie Weekend at Downtown Disney is a tremendous sucess as well.
