8/9 John Lasseter in Wreck-It Ralph Concept Art, Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Hi everyone!
I was at Disney's Hollywood Studios yesterday and stopped by the Magic of Disney Animation building, not expecting any new concept art yet. The Brave artwork exhibit has been there since early February, and is now gone. The upcoming Wreck-It Ralph is in its place! We have a video of all of the artwork in addition to the photos.
I've been adding the concept art display photos to Mousesteps each time the display has changed, starting with Pixar's film UP. I always enjoy seeing what the new film will be here! I have a link to photos from past displays at the end of this article. We also collect a lot of the "Art of" books, and the Art of Wreck-It Ralph is available for pre-order on Amazon!
Wreck-It Ralph looks like it will be a fun film. The trailers have shown the character of Ralph as a villain in the video game Fix-It Felix, where he gets tired of being the bad guy after 30 years. He escapes the game, and finds himself entering other game environments including Sugar Rush. Warning: the concept art below may make you hungry!
The information about the character Wreck-It Ralph says "Ralph is a heavy-handed wrecking riot with a sensitive soul. For thirty years, day in, day out, he's been working as 'The Bad Guy' in the arcade game Fix-It Felix Jr. But it's getting harder and harder to love his job when no one seems to like him for doing it. Suffering from a classic case of Bad-Guy fatigue and hungry for a little wreck-ognition, Ralph embarks on an adventure across an incredible arcade-game word to prove that just because he's a Bad Guy, it doesn't mean he's a bad guy." Ralph is voiced by John C. Reilly.
Ralph hands a couple of cherries to Q*Bert characters in the photo below. There are a wide variety of characters, some created for the film, and others that Disney bought the rights to use in Wreck-It Ralph.
Even Pixar's John Lasseter can be found here!
