7/26 New Tap to Pay / Touch to Pay Test Coming To Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Hi everyone!
We were at Disney's Contemporary Resort today, and learned about a new Tap to Pay/Touch to Pay test that will happen next week (August 1st – 10th).
We were told that guests would sign up with their credit card and a security code of their choosing at the Contemporary Resort front desk, and will be able to tap/touch their Key to the World Card at the devices (seen below) at The Wave restaurant and the stores on the 4th floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort. Once the amount of a bill reaches $50, guests will need to use their security number (instead of a signature, which is required now). That adds another level of security to the transaction. The card will be RFID chipped, which is the way things are going now with NextGen (just like the room keys at Disney's Art of Animation Resort). The test is voluntary for guests, and I was told the machines at the front desk will only be to record the secuirty numbers – not to pay for room stays.
The test is only at Disney's Contemporary Resort, and the photos below were taken this morning at the Fantasia Shop.
