7/15 Magic Kingdom Fantasyland Photo Update – Dumbo Queue, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Beast’s Castle
Hi everyone!
I hadn't realized it'd been a month since we'd been to the Magic Kingdom, last for the Casey Jr. Splash 'n Soak. Where has the time gone since then? We often get asked for Fantasyland updates, both here and on our YouTube Channel, so we made our way over yesterday morning for photos and video.
The last few weeks have been a blur of media events and offsite visits, including Universal's Despicable Me Minion Mayhem Grand Opening, Busch Gardens Christmas Town announcement, and we sent a reporter to Thursday's Comic-Con press conference for Frankenweenie, Oz: The Great and Powerful, and Wreck-It Ralph. That article is up, and hopefully tomorrow I'll have photos and a report from another of our correspondents who we sent to the Iron Man 3 press conference!
Back to the Magic Kingdom…on our way to the park after a breakfast at Captain Cook's (tonga toast), I took some photos along the way of the construction of the DVC Villas at the Grand Floridian. For more information on DVC, visit Mouseowners! There is now a barrier in the water that keeps boats from passing.
Arriving to the Magic Kingdom:
Facades have left the Chapeau and the Main Street Bakery since our last visit:
We thought it'd be nice to ride the People Mover, and I did get a few photos of Fantasyland before we were evacuated off of it.
We stopped right inside Space Mountain – which was nice, since we had natural light and plenty of air conditioning. This is the second time in the past few years I've been evacuated off of the People Mover, and I'm glad that both times I had a newspaper or magazine on hand. The evacuation process is always very orderly.
Jeff waits for our turn:
It isn't often you get to walk past the Space Mountain sign!
I guess we were among the first to be removed from the ride, since many guests were still walking the tracks after we went down the stairs. Both times I was evacuated, I was very close to stairs (and didn't get the chance to walk around the track as much).
