7/1 Dr. Teeth and Electric Mayhem Muppets Display Back at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Hi everyone!
Just over a week ago, we were in Disney's Hollywood Studios for the D23 Fanniversary, and stopped into the Stage 1 Company Store. We didn't realize that sometime in April, a Muppets display of Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem had appeared. It is actually from the "Here Come the Muppets" attraction that ran from 1990-1991.
Apparently, the display hasn't been seen in Disney's MGM-Studios/Disney's Hollywood Studios for about ten years.
I don't remember ever seeing the show "Here Come the Muppets", but I've never spent much time in shows at the parks. It took me until the last couple of years to see "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" and "Beauty and the Beast"! I have now seen "Here Come the Muppets" on Jeff's DVD, and I like that it reminds me of The Muppet Show from the 70's. If you'd like to see some vintage photos from "Here Come the Muppets" and the subsequent "Muppets on Location: Days of Swine and Roses" (along with a current video of this display), check out this article on Jeff's site! He also discusses the former attractions in our Mousesteps Weekly YouTube show #8, an episode which first goes into depth about Disney's Art of Animation Resort in the Cars Wing Suite (we also have a photo tour and videos of this area of the resort).
There is never any doubt to where you can buy Muppets merchandise at Disney's Hollywood Studios:
The display features Dr. Teeth, Janice, Zoot, Animal and Floyd as Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
It's always nice to find former props and displays back in the parks. It's not only nostalgia for those of us who have been going to the parks for so long, but it allows a new audience to see and appreciate them.
