5/15 Princess Merida Meet and Greet Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland Photo Update
Hi everyone!
We spent Friday through Sunday at the luxurious Gaylord Palms Resort for a media weekend to enjoy their new (and extensive!) resort renovations, and I'll have a photo walk, dining reviews and more soon! Gaylord Palms is one of my favorite area resorts, and I can't wait to share it. In the meantime, we went yesterday to see Princess Merida of Pixar's Brave at the Magic Kingdom, and to check out Fantasyland.
We just put up our 2nd Mousesteps Weekly episode on YouTube!
We already had met Princess Merida at Epcot previously, we have an article here with a video link. We were very suprised at all the controversy regarding the walk-around Merida's accent, we've had our video posted in a variety of places, such as io9 and the Daily Record UK online (ours is the second video in the latter)! Apparently she sounds more Irish than Scottish – and even though I've been to England numerious times and Scotland once, I've never been good at differentiating the accents. We have met the same Princess Merida twice, she's extremely personable and is already quite popular!
Here are some photos of the Grand Floridian construction from the boat. I don't expect to be at the Grand Floridian for updates as often as we have in the past (maybe every few weeks or so instead of weekly).
Walking into the Magic Kingdom:
Princess Merida's meet-and-greet was closed when we arrived. We did wait for over an hour until she came back, looking at merchandise and such during that time.
The merchandise cart outside of Fairytale Garden used to hold Tangled merchandise, now it's for Brave. Almost every item is Disney Store branded, I can't help but think there should be Disney Park branded merchandise at some point (besides a shirt and a pin). I do adore the bear cub plush! We have a video of the merchandise on the cart.
The Art of Brave book comes out on May 30th, and is currently pre-ordering for less than $22.00 on Amazon! We have a number of "Art of" books, including the wonderful Art of Tangled.
I'm not sure I want to be sucking anything from her head with a straw!
I watched as a father offered to buy his young daughter a Princess Merida doll and she shook her head no. I told the mom, "just wait a few weeks!" I expect Princess Merida to be extremely popular, and I hope they add a lot more new merchandise for the film!
