3/29 Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Update – New Animation on Lion King, Much More!
Hi everyone!
We have a look at the progress at Disney's Art of Animation Resort from today! The resort is getting close to opening, and Disney moved up the dates for completion on all the section except for Finding Nemo, which opens the resort on May 31st.
We have a have a video with commentary here of the construction (including from the air).

The Cars section is set to open now on June 18th, Lion King on August 10th, and Little Mermaid on September 15th (Little Mermaid had been planned for completion "by the end of the year").
When we arrived at Walt Disney World, we saw work being done to the letters on the Walt Disney World sign:
Victory Way road work:
Both sides of Disney's Art of Animation sign:
There was landscaping work going on around the sign when we passed by – and, a skull that we thought might go into Radiator Springs – but all the comments below say Lion King! So Lion King it is. I looked through some artwork ahead of time but didn't find this particular set piece. Thanks to everyone who commented, I always like to have my information correct!
I don't remember the orange coloring on the front of the building previously:
At Disney's Pop Century Resort, the Play-Doh icon was being sanded and re-painted:
The Little Mermaid section has progressed the most since we were there last. There are what looks like bubbles being installed on the buildings (actually, I thought they looked like the center of a mood ring!) There are also areas with splashes of color being added, and props.
From the artwork, this looks like it will be the scene behind King Triton:
