1/31 Epcot Update – Big Figs Going Away?, New Troll & Viking Shirts, Tutto Italia Refurb
Hi everyone!
We were at Epcot for fun yesterday (it's really rare that we take a day and mostly play), and I took photos along the way – looking at them today, I thought I'd share with you some of what we found!
The photos range from merchandise in the various pavilions, to the Tutto Italia refurb, to an Adventurer's Club stool in the Germany pavilion.
I put up a Downtown Disney photo update a couple of days back that included a Hat Box Ghost medium figure and photos of medium figures next to their big figure counterparts at the Art of Disney. When we stopped at the Art of Disney at Epcot yesterday, we were told that "Big Figs" are on the way out, that they just received word that that big figures would not be sold after March (we were told this by one Cast Member there). Given the amount of medium figures now in the stores, I'd not be surprised if this was correct information.
This is a Mickey Firefighter Medium Figure:
And these are a couple of Big Figs:
We have a few big figures in the house – but I do like the medium ones better, they are more versatile in where they can be placed.
We made our way to World Showcase, first going to Norway and found some great merchandise! I especially love the "It's a Troll World" t-shirt:
And the matching mug:
The sweatshirt:
And a more whimsical Viking shirt:
I wish every pavilion offered the terrific apparel that Norway does! Many do have nice merchandise, but this is currently the best, in my opinon, for unique t-shirts. For those who like to shop, Norway and Germany both have some decent clearance prices right now on Helly Hansen (Norway) and Adidas (Germany), as well as other brands. It's always worth walking through World Showcase shops!

New Goofy mug and glass in Germany:
Steiff Lars bears:
Some of the glasses in Germany now have a felt-like material on them. I am not sure how that works in a dishwasher!
A couple of months back, Jeff noticed an Adventurer's Club chair inside of a Germany's Das Kaufhaus shop (not for sale, but for their use). We took a photo of it, and then promptly forgot about it. We have one of these chairs (purchased at property control), and the writing on the inside is the same – GB 1992.
