1/3/2012 Dumbo Ride Testing at Storybook Circus, More Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland Photos and Video
Hi everyone!
It was a gorgeous, chilly day today – we spent time at a few resorts, taking photos and video, before heading off to the Magic Kingdom. We didn’t end up riding Dumbo, instead we found the Dumbo spinner in Storybook Circus testing with four Dumbo cars.
Here are a few photos of the DVC construction at Disney’s Grand Floridian as we passed by on the monorail:
Here is a new sign – I know Disney has put the word “The” on the chopping block since last year, but I still think it sounds a lot better than just “Magic Kingdom”!
Christmas decorations are still up, as is Candy Cane Lane:
On Main Street, new scrim is going up – along with temporary sidewalk extensions.

We were taking photos of the upcoming Dumbo ride when it started moving. There were four Dumbo cars on the spinner, and a worker or two riding during some of the testing. The rest of the ride is just arms, waiting for more Dumbos!
The area of Storybook Circus that includes the Dumbo attraction is set to open in early 2012. Pretty close! The current Dumbo ride will close next week (January 9th) and should open on or around February 18th.
After finishing in Fantasyland, we stopped by Splash Mountain – which had a 5 minute wait (we didn’t ride!) Big Thunder Mountain had a 100 minute wait at the same time.

We were hoping to ride Dumbo today, but we ran out of time! We are looking forward to sharing updates throughout 2012, and I’ll be re-doing my photo walks (most are from 2007 and are vintage now!)
