Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House, Christmas Tree, Decorations From December 15, 2011
Hi everyone!
Late last week, we enjoyed a couple of hours at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. We have photos of the DVC construction in another update, and I’m happy to finally be sharing the Christmas photos we took!
We walked up to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, which always showcases vintage vehicles and decorative deer outside. Chestnuts were being served to guests at the front entrance (but not cider this year). The Cast Member was even singing the “Chestnut” song!
Walking into the entrance, there are two trees flanking the larger one:
There was a gingerbread demonstration ocurring when we arrived, along with free sample pieces. The Cast Member who handles the demonstrations each year was heading it up, along with one of her assistants and a “junior baker”. They demonstrated how to make a house, as well as gingerbread cookies. It’s a lot of work just to make one gingerbread house!

Disney decorations on the house include princesses, Tinker Bell, Mickey and Minnie, Pluto and Tigger:
Photos from around the Gingerbread House:
I love the real flowers that are placed around the resort. The lofty Christmas tree is not real, but is beautiful. The trees, wreaths and garland are Victorian themed, and ornaments include bird cages and swans.
The area set up for children to watch videos also includes a couple of small Christmas trees.
We walked upstairs, where more Christmas trees and decorations can be found.

There is a tree and other decor near Victoria & Alberts and Citricos:
We went back downstairs:
Out in the back of the resort, more deer rest in the flowers. Poinsettias surround the fountain near the pool.
Ducks in the pool:
We were ready to leave, and went back inside for just a few more minutes.
A performer was singing carols:
We took the monorail to another resort, and looked down on the deer as we were ready to board. I love the holidays at Walt Disney World!
We’ll have more photos from Walt Disney World on Saturday!
