12/10 Grand Floridian DVC Construction Photos – Disney Vacation Club Officially Announced

Hi everyone!

We spent yesterday taking photos and video at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and the Magic Kingdom – many of construction, many of Christmas. I wanted to share the Grand Floridian DVC Villa construction shots now, with a few photos of Christmas there as well (I expect to post a full Grand Floridian Christmas update on Monday).

Disney officially announced the Disney Vacation Club addition a couple of days ago, which wasn't news to anyone. I think this was a much faster announcement than the Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, which I took photos of from the time it broke ground until the time it opened.

For those interested in learning more about the Disney Vacation Club, I recommend the Mouseowners website. They also have a very friendly message board!

Here is an official Disney photo that shows what the planned building will look like. 147 units are set to be finished in late 2013.

The sky was absolutely gorgeous yesterday, and matched the facade that is up next to the Grand Floridian Wedding Pavilion. Looking below, a couple of photos actually look like the real beach and wall – but it's the facade! If anything, we were a little surprised that the construction wall was pictured on it, instead of just the beach.
