11/3 Disney’s Hollywood Studios Christmas Tree and Decorations, Osborne Lights Nearly Finished
Hi everyone!
Today we went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to check out the Christmas decorations – can you believe it’s that time already? The year has flown by. The decorations overall look beautiful, although there were a couple of issues with the Christmas tree display.
I always love how the tree and poinsettia plants look at the front of the park. I don’t usually point out issues with lights, displays, etc. much, but in this case they were pretty obvious (and hopefully Disney is able to fix them).
The Christmas tree base is film themed, with several Disney characters. There was a gorgeous sky today as a background! Santa is a major player in not only the tree ornaments, but in garland around the park.
Donald looks like he’s taken on some mud:
This is a crack, and it’s a big one. I enjoy this display around the Christmas tree, but it’s likely time for a replacement for some of the components:
Mickey and Minnie:
Walking into Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we enjoyed the decorations:
We stopped into Guest Relations:
Decorations:
Santa hasn’t yet taken his place above The Darkroom (I hope he still does this year):
There is a nice display in the windows of Mickey’s of Hollywood, it was hard to get photos of it during the day (I’ll get them when we go to the Osborne Lights). It has a very “Old Hollywood” feel of going to the movies. I was told that these are real outfits. It sounds like the display that has been in these windows during previous years won’t be here, but I think it’s a nice change!
We started walking down Hollywood Boulevard:
I used the Black and White feature on my camera for the first time (I used to often shoot with black and white, but it’s been years – in the old film days). I also tried sepia for one shot – but most photos coming up will be color.
Decorations down Sunset Boulevard, many with the Tower of Terror behind them:
I was taking a photo of these Streetmosphere actors, and then they demanded I take another:
We walked past the tip board and around to the Brown Derby – I love the plants that are hanging outside here!
Prep and Landing posters:
A few decorations around the Animation area:
Pixar Place:
Winnie the Pooh DVD ad:
There was some new Christmas merchandise, my favorite items are the old-time Mickey and Minnie ornaments:
The Osborne Lights are nearly done, and I found quite a few changes (including the nice, new signs). I love how this display always changes and evolves. The nativity is set up (except for baby Jesus) – I looked for the Halloween cat, but it might not be out yet.
