9/10 Epcot Update – Food and Wine Festival Progress, Halloween Displays, Florida Project Pin Event
More of the interesting ghost displays, and Jeff goofed off with the one that points back:
Evening at World Showcase:
Now onto The Florida Project. I am not a pin collector – actually, I don't really collect a lot of anything (Jeff makes up for that by turning our home into a mini Disney Archives!) 🙂 We went because we really love the theme of the event. Both of us started going to Walt Disney World in the 1970's – 1971 for Jeff, and 1976 for me, and it's nice to be involved with events that celebrate the history of the parks. And actually, I really enjoyed enjoyed trading on the pin boards, even though I'm not keeping anything for myself. We ran into so many friends that we had the opportunity to spend time in line with (lines for the pin boards tended to run between 30 and 45 minutes each). If you enjoy collecting pins, this is a terrific event! Disney stocks the pin boards with artist proof pins and more – it's a good value for the price paid for admission.
We have video of the event, as well as of the Orange Bird song that was played throughout the weekend! (the one link gets you to both)

Cash registers:
I had written captions for the following photos, but lost the text when I saved it. So, I'm just going to write a paragraph instead! When you entered the main room for The Florida Project, there was 20,000 Leagues submarine to the left. It really was the focal point of the room. To the right, there are themed areas for trading on the boards. The Haunted Mansion, Seven Dwarfs Mine, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Cinderella Castle and some of the original resorts – Disney's Polynesian Resort, Contemporary Resort, and Fort Wilderness – were also represented. Real ride vehicles were part of Seven Dwarfs Mine and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
Each area had the pin trading board. And to the left in the room, you could view upcoming pins and Vinylmation figures. Plus a piece of artwork gave away Dumbo and Timothy Mouse as the characters on the Disney Fantasy stern (though that art disappeared on the second day). I have an article about that here!
