D23 Expo 2011 – Treasures of the Walt Disney World Archives
Hi everyone!
I planned to write quite a few articles from the D23 Expo press room, but there isn't a wireless connection this time around (due to a giltch). I've taken a couple of thousand photos so far, including of the media preview of Treasures of the Walt Disney World Archives. It's amazing!
So far we have two videos up as well (and there will be much more to come). One is of The Carousel of Projects, and the other is a preview of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
There is more to the exhibit than what I've shown here, and there is also a book that is sold at the Expo that details each item!
Entering into this exhibit (which is twice the size of the one from two years ago), a collection of early Disneyland memorabilia sits. My favorite? The Mickey Mouse plush from the famous Walt Disney E.R. Ripley train photos, taken opening day at Disneyland. Walt Disney's nametag is also displayed.
A collection from Zorro:
Two years ago, there was a small amount of Mouseketeer memorabilia, including Karen's outfit from the original series. This time around, there is quite a bit more. I'm a huge fan of the original Mickey Mouse Club! Annette's costume, Jimmy's ears, Roy's costume – that and more is displayed.
