6/30/11 – Interview with the Artist SHAG (Includes Photos at Walt Disney World Signings)

These pictures are from Shag's Magic Kingdom signing last week. The line wasn't too long when we arrived, but we arrived an hour in (on purpose, to avoid the line at opening – it was 95 or so degrees out!). The tiki I took a photo of here was the one from his favorite bar in Fort Lauderdale, it's different than the one at Downtown Disney. You can see many of his merchandise pieces, we picked up the Aloha shirt, prints, and postcards (we aren't done yet!)

 

 

 

Two streetmosphere actors came in to talk with Shag. I took this photo and some video (we also have a fun video of the Dapper Dans at Shag's signing in January).

Jeff wasn't sure whether to have Shag sign his shirt, I suggested the tag. We loved getting a little piece of Shag original art!

 

 

We'd not planned to go to Downtown Disney, but we joined our friends before seeing Cars 2 – and of course, ended up spending a little more money!   My sister had a birthday this month, I didn't know if she'd want a whole set of cards, but we grew up going to the Polynesian Resort in the 70's and 80's and I thought it'd be nice to have Shag's signature for her on one of the Polynesian postcards (he also signed the tin for us).  He went over and above what I expected:
