5/22 Blackbeard on Water Mist Screen – Pirates of the Caribbean, Walt Disney World

 

Last night we went to the Magic Kingdom to capture some photos and video of the new Blackbeard additions to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.  He's now on the water mist screen before the drop, and is heard on the ramp to the gift shop.

Last month we took photos and video of Angelica from Pirates of the Caribbean 4, and this is the latest addition from the new film.  We've been too busy to see the latest in the Pirates franchise (and I don't even think I saw the third one), but we'll probably head to the theater in the next week or so.

 

 

I had heard that he was hard to photograph, I ended up just putting my camera on sports mode (only to keep from shining the green light on him), and I think they turned out okay. We have video of several greetings from 3 different rides!

And in the gift shop, portraits of the various characters from the new Pirates of the Caribbean film are displayed, including Angelica and Blackbeard.  Two of them – Angelica and Captain Jack – are used to promote The Pirates League, where guests can be transformed into pirates.  I'm sure business there must be on an uptick!
