2/11 Mickey’s Toontown Fair, Walt Disney World – The Last Day
Hi everyone!
We closed out Mickey's Toontown Fair as guests said their final goodbye to this land that began as Mickey's Birthdayland (and then turned into Mickey's Starland, before it eventually settled in as Mickey's Toontown Fair).
This isn't an exhaustive set of photos – I plan to do that sometime this week, with a walk-through of the former land, including a detailed look at Mickey and Minnie's houses. If you want to see what Mickey's Birthdayland looked like in 1988 (along with video of the Birthdayland Express), check it out here from Jeff at JeffLangeDVD! (And I finally created a Mousesteps Facebook page to add to the Twitter account we started last year).
We took the train into Mickey's Toontown Fair for the last time on Friday afternoon. The conductor told guests that the new Fantasyland would start opening in a couple of months, and encouraged everyone to book their summer vacations (if anyone heard this, you'll need to wait until 2012 and 2013 as Fantasyland opens in stages). We have video from the last day/evening which includes that here!

The benches where we planned to eat our dinner (along the path from Mickey's Toontown Fair to Tomorrowland) were already gone. I hope Disney keeps this path once the new Fantasyland opens, I haven't heard one way or the other:
