Disney Dream Christening – “Golden Mickeys” and “Disney’s Believe” Shows
While "The Golden Mickeys" is a classic – now at sea as well as at Hong Kong Disneyland, "Disney's Believe" is an entirely new production. The first couple of scenes had me confused – was it based on "Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue"? Or "Aladdin" from Disney's California Adventure? But eventually, it settled into it's own rhythm, with lavish production numbers from a variety of Disney films.
Cruise Director Rachel Quinn again did the honors on presenting the show:
As I mentioned, the first part reminded me of "Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue" because the father, Dr. Cornelius Greenaway, is more intent on his botany (in the film it's butterflies) than in his daughter. She believes in magic and fairies, he believes in science. It looks like she won't be getting quality time with him for her birthday either. You can see a pear instead of an apple on his computer as well:
And at this point, the show seemed to morph into "Aladdin" from Disney's California Adventure! The great thing is, just like in DCA, the Genie is fantastic and moves the show along.
