1/19/11 Disney Dream Christening Cruise – Lobby, Deck Party, Whoopi Goldberg, Inaugural Merchandise

 

Our other glitch had to do with our room keys, but that was fixed and we headed straight for the safety drill.  The last time I cruised was in 2002 (it's hard to believe it's been that long!) and back then, we had to actually put the life vests on.  That was no longer the case, we just watched as they told us how to do it. We all met in the club Evolution for the drill:

 

 

 

And afterwards, we saw the large puppets from the World of Color that were used in the Christening ceremony:

We received beautiful Disney Dream Inaugural Christening flutes with champagne:

 

 

 

Next, we stopped at the deck party – it was already in full swing.  Chip and Dale, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy joined a host of performers on stage.  We have several minutes of the party on video, including "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from the horn here.  We do have a video with all of the horn songs on YouTube and will share that within an article soon!
