Disney Park and Resort Photo Updates

12/23 Disney’s Hollywood Studios New Restaurant Kiosk Open, MK Fantasyland, New Menus & More

Hi everyone!

We spent 11 hours at Walt Disney World yesterday, mostly taking photos and video of the holidays around the resorts.  We are heading to Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge today as well, I'm looking forward to sharing the resort photos early next week!  We also stopped at Disney's Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom, and tried the temporary Ristorante Italiano and have some pictures around both parks – there are several new menus at the seasonal restaurants.

Thank you to Jeff at JeffLangeDVD for supplying many of the videos for our sites, our shared YouTube channel gets over 100,000 views per month!  You can find a lot of great fan DVD's on his site, including Epcot vintage DVD's from Horizons to the Lights of Winter (and he has gift certificates as well!)

Entering into Disney's Hollywood Studios, it looks like the stage is now set for New Years Eve:

We have photos from my last update of the Ristorante Italiano kiosk that is set not far from Mama Melrose.  I had thought it was supposed to be food from the restaurant, but it's not. The pasta is okay – a decent alternative if the other restaurants are packed.  But definitely don't go expecting the quality of Mama Melrose. I ordered the pasta with meatballs – we shared it, which wasn't enough for both of us for lunch (one would be enough for a lunch for one person), there are two meatballs in it.  There is no bread or side item, though you can order minestrone soup.  I can't imagine this will be a permanent booth, there wouldn't be a need for it after the holidays.  We had a much more filling meal later at Cosmic Ray's (which I'll mention in a couple of pages) with the 30% off-peak dining offer for the holiday time period.

After our meal, we watched some of Mickey's Christmas Carol before heading out.  I love that they are showing the film (at the Premiere Theater), and we were told that both Phineas and Ferb and Prep and Landing are shown around it.  So if you were to show up at around :25 after the hour (like 3:25), you could watch all three in a row.  We were also told that the films are supposed to be shown until January 2nd.

On our way out, we stopped for a Carrot Cake Cookie (my favorite snack at Walt Disney World!), and took some more photos:
