11/15 Pollo Campero Review, Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney
Our meal also included some warm tortillas, and I picked up a cookie sandwich from babycakes. There is a toppings bar that includes salsa and a combination of onions and cilantro. The feast is supposed to feed 3-4 people, and I think 4 might be stretching it. We did bring food home, and I feel that it could easily serve a family of 3. The chicken strips are just standard strips – no complaint there, it's what I expected and it's hard to get chicken strips on Disney property anymore. The grilled chicken had a mild citrus taste – but it was very good and we took apart some of the chicken, wrapped it in the tortillas and added toppings to make a tasty meal. The price fits in comfortably with Downtown Disney quick service pricing (the feast was $16.99 plus tax). I loved the to-go box also! I found babycakes pricey, but I don't know what vegan treats would normally cost, and it's nice to have a bakery that caters to dietary needs. I also purchased a cupcake top (as opposed to a full cupcake) in addition to the cookie sandwich we split. I really liked the chocolate chip cookie sandwich with mint filling, it was not overly sweet and I definitely would recommend it. I also tried a sample of the vanilla cupcake, which I liked.
There is also a bar area with smoothies, beer and sangria:
A look around the restaurant:
There was ample seating between the inside and outside tables.
A few photos outside (although it was completely dark out):
Eventually we'll try some more items (I had a small budget to stick with), but I'm glad that Downtown Disney has a new restaurant with quite a few dining choices within it. Pollo Campero/Fresh-A-Peel/babycakes is a great concept for Downtown Disney. The Downtown Disney Marketplace is my favorite area on property for quick service dining at Walt Disney World, between Wolfgang Puck Express, Earl of Sandwich and now Pollo Campero.
