8/28 Disney’s Hollywood Studios Photo Update, Including Halloween Merchandise and Displays!

Hi everyone!

We made a quick stop yesterday into Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and found quite a few items of interest since we’d last stopped there a week ago.

The kennels at the parks will be closing as of September 1st, when Best Friends pet care opens. I personally have used the kennels in the past, and I like having easier access to my pets (at the parks) as opposed to a central location on property.

The park was really slow on Saturday, the tip board shows almost no wait for popular rides (and that is even with Toy Story Midway Mania down).

There is construction at the hat – according to Studios Central, “This work is for new character backdrops: light up dimensional stars. Disney is also adding a film strip prop to the old Snow White planter (kind of between Sorcerer’s Hat and Echo Lake)… AND characters will be getting new costumes: 1940s-style movie star looks! Goofy in zoot suit w/ sunglasses. Chip/Dale with hats & ties. Donald in a fedora. Minnie/Daisy in gowns.”

On my update from just over a week ago, the construction walls at Midway Mania had the signs from 2008 saying the ride was coming. Sometime since then, the signs changed (note: the ride should be open again today):

Villains in Vogue had the most eleborate displays, and nearby we saw the normal case of sweets – with carrot cake cookies! We’d not seen them anywhere else but the Writers Stop previously:
