July 4th Fireworks, Voices of Liberty Photos and More
Benjamin Franklin (we have a nice little video of him as well, answering a question about his relative in DHS!)
A sign giving information on what is going on for the 4th of July at Epcot:
Betsy Ross told the story of the American flag. She started a little early, and was interrupted several times by cast member announcements about the American Adventure show:
We then headed to the Magic Kingdom, where we went to the Adventureland Verandah and split a turkey sandwich for dinner. The Verandah has been open over the past couple of years or so during busy times (like Christmas week and Easter).
Directional arrows on the ground:
Instead of flags, some tour guides were carrying flowers on sticks:
An area of the sidewalk was set aside for guests (unlike in the past, where much of Main Street was used for guests right away). Disney started doing this recently, but I'm not quite sure why. For the 4th of July fireworks, we were there 2 1/2 hours early, and were told that at around 8:50pm that they'd let us into the street. At probably around 8pm, Main Street ended up filling up after guests kept getting told to get onto the sidewalk (there was no room).
After the lights went down, the castle looked beautiful – I didn't take more photos as I was videotaping. The remainder of the pictures are of the castle before we left for the evening.
I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful 4th of July! Thank you to Jeff at JeffLangeDVD for hosting my videos!
