6/5/10 Main Street Electrical Parade – Summer Nightastic, Walt Disney World Preview Night!
Hi everyone!
I am very happy that the Main Street Electrical Parade is back here at Walt Disney World! I first saw the parade when it started at the Magic Kingdom in 1977 and enjoyed it until it left (and then came back, then left again!) Last year we saw this incarnation of the parade at DCA, with the new Tinker Bell float, light effects, and return of other parade floats. I have about 150 photos from Saturday and video of the entire parade.
Our joint YouTube Channel has over 430 subscribers and is closing in on 450 videos! You can also find Mousesteps on Twitter.
I took video of the first Main Street Electrical Parade on Saturday during the preview, and photos during the second parade. I really liked most of the changes made to the Electrical Parade last year, you will see the light effects in a variety of these photos. The extra lighting is really beautiful!
The crowd was thick for the fireworks:
But most had left by the time the second parade had started. Remember I have full video of the first parade!
The first float is the Tinker Bell float, which was new for Disney’s California Adventure last year:
The Casey Jr. Circus Engine with Goofy driving:
Turtle:
Snail:
The Alice in Wonderland float series, which includes mushrooms, a butterfly, ladybug, Alice in Wonderland, the Chesire Cat, the Caterpillar with frog, turtles and a centipede:
The Cinderella’s Ball float series, which includes the Pumpkin Coach with Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Royal Court and the Clock Tower:
Pirate ship with Captain Hook, Peter Pan and Smee rowing behind it:
Dopey’s Mine Train and the Diamond Mine:
Pinocchio’s Pleasure Island float, which includes Pinocchio and the Funhouse Face:
Pete’s Dragon float – the smoke wasn’t working when we saw the parade:
To Honor America:
There are still a lot of photos I need to put up over the next few days – Star Wars Weekends, more Summer Nightastic, and pictures from the Contemporary Resort Bay Lake Tower Top of the World! It’s been a busy weekend, but a lot of fun. Now I just need to find some time to head to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!
