1/4/10 Crystal Palace and Splash Mountain Rehabs, Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee Finale
Hi everyone!
Yesterday was a big transition day at the Magic Kingdom, with the last Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee and rehabs starting on the Crystal Palace and Splash Mountain. The castle was lit one last time as well for this season, but without the show. It’s been very chilly this week, with lows in the upper 20’s and low 30’s. For those who haven’t seen, we also have photos and video from New Years Eve, including the fireworks from Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
The Crystal Palace has walls around it, and the bridge to Adventureland is closed:
The Liberty Tree Tavern is picking up the slack, serving breakfast as well as lunch and dinner (family-style):
Splash Mountain is also now down for rehab:
Facades are down in Fantasyland:
The roof to Mrs. Potts Cupboard is still being worked on:
The recessional to the second-to-last Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee was happening as I arrived, and they were having a lot of fun with it. Here is our video (updated in 2020 to be one full video instead of several parts).
Here are photos of the last Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee!
We waited for the last Showboat Jubilee, we had been there for the first as well (in October).
The boat comes around the bend:
The last recessional was even more fun, with all of the cast dancing for a couple of minutes before heading into the exit:
Props were being taken away:
On the Liberty Belle, the top floor is blocked off:
A rock that needs re-working:
“A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas” is now over, and the stage still had Christmas decor but the speakers were wrapped and the door blocked.
The Carousel of Progress now has the 2010 year:
We had to be evacuated off the attraction after the ride stopped with a scraping noise (from below us):
The castle lights were turned on for a last time, even though no show was presented:
Nice retro-style mugs in a shop:
Photos from the castle:
The facade is down from the street off Main Street:
And here are a handful of photos from the previous day, including our lunch at the Adventureland Veranda, the last Christmas parade (Kanga was missing!), the Diamond Horseshoe and Pinocchio:
Here is hoping that 2010 is a great year for everyone!
