1/22 Innoventions, AKV, CR, BW, Toy Story Mania Updates
Today I went down to Disney, in part to do my update and also to work on my Polynesian to GF sunset walk (I still need another day on that, as the sun goes down so quickly). I started with Epcot, where I saw a new Innoventions attraction – and went from there. You can find some photos larger at Micechat ! My last actual non-update articles are my Cinderellas Castle Suite photos and Gatorland ! That will change soon.
The Velcro part of Innoventions soft-opened today for a few shows. I was in Innoventions, and they asked if I'd like to take part (there were maybe 12 – 15 total who were asked for the 1pm show).
The first part of the presentation was more educational – the history of fabric hook and loop fasteners (that phrase is used very often). I think they meant for this part to be amusing as well. It really wasn't, but it was short and somewhat interesting.
Then we were ushered into another room for the main show (from the "Slapstick Studios" called "What's Your Problem"?) The point of the show was solving problems with Velcro. While I'm not sure it really did that, I thought this was quite fun. The stage isn't done yet, and someone from Imagineering came out and thanked us for being part of viewing the show (and reminding us that it was still not finished). I was chosen for the first of three games, being part of a team stacking velcro shapes. I don't have any photos of that! The next game was another set of teams attaching velcro shapes to the yellow coats above. The third was a bit more odd. They chose two men, and had them put diapers on dolls. The dolls were on a conveyer belt, and then the diapered babies were stuck on their velcroed chest. It was funny, everyone seemed to enjoy that one best. The cast members were terrific for this showing. I won a Pluto sticker for my game.
