That day was the French elections, so police were building up everywhere when I left the Louvre:

I wasn't sure how that evening would be (after the announcement of the elections), so I walked for a couple of hours before heading back to my hotel.   It was my last night, or I might have headed back into the main area after the announcement.   It looks like it was quite a celebration in town!

I love walking the city – the sculptures, the design of the buildings, it's an incredibly beautiful city (as I've said!)
