Promenade Plantee’ Walk
This is a walk that the average traveller to Paris won't end up doing. I'd asked on the Trip Advisor Paris forum if it was possible to walk from my hotel to central Paris. Christine (co-owner of the hotel I stayed at) mapped it out quickly for me.
And hopefully I'll figure out how to stop leaning (sorry, I guess I'm just lopsided). 🙂 I am working on it!
I'm starting out at the hotel I like to stay at, the Hotel de la Porte Doree. This is not in the center of town, it's near the Bois de Vincennes. We stayed here in September and I really love this area.
The outside of the hotel:
My room (and lineup of fruit and applesauce!). I paid about $85 US for a double room for one person, which isn't bad at all with as little as our dollar is worth there now.
Hallway, TINY elevator, lobby:
The most incredible boulangerie across the street!
Villa Romano, just steps from the hotel. I ate there 5 times this trip, they are very friendly and I love the food:
Just a couple of minutes up the street, a flower shop:
I actually took this on a different day, but it was next to the flower shop – one VERY happy dog! I asked the owner first if it was okay to take the photo, there was a bit of a crowd gathering. 🙂 The dog had it's legs straight out to begin with, I missed that picture!
