Part 1 – Port Orleans French Quarter / Riverside Walk Photos
I arrived to the POF at about 7:30am (a little later than I wanted to, but it hadn’t been light for long):
I’d made a quick stop at the food court. I tried the beignets, but couldn’t finish them – they aren’t the best option before exercise (but very good!) There was skim milk in the food court, as well as fruit – which I also had.
I sat underneath this guy. What a face to see in the morning!:
I didn’t take a lot of food court photos – but it is a festive atmosphere, much different than Port Orleans Riverside:
There is a lovely area off the lobby which has jazz some nights of the week:
I’ll have a couple of lobby photos at the end of part II. The lighting wasn’t really great for photos at this time!
I actually started the walk from this fountain, which is beautiful and reminds me of Paris! To get here, it was a 2 minute walk from the food court – going out the back of the main building, to the right on Rue D’Baga, left on Rue D’Blues, right on Jazz Alley, and left on Pontchartrain Way:
From the fountain, I started at 9:18am.
It was a short walk to the water, down this “street”:
The gates out to the path that takes you down the river to POR:
I turned left on Carriage Path – and while I’m taking photos off of the boat depot and pool, Carriage Path is the path I’m staying on for walking:
The boat depot:
The boat ride to Downtown Disney is actually very relaxing (at the times it runs, I’m here too early!):
It took me only 2 minutes to get from the Fountain to the pool – it is now 9:20, the pool is on the left (I took the photos over an hour earlier, I didn’t stop to take any photos as I was timing the walk):
The pool features a dragon slide, and is very popular with kids:
Nice towels, I have no idea who they belonged to:
Continuing on the path:
The first bridge, I arrive there at 9:25am:
I am going towards Riverside:
I really love walking in the morning, with the reflections in the water:
Now coming up towards Port Orleans Riverside:
I’ll be on the other side of the water later:
I arrived at this bridge at 9:28am:
The path keeps going, but you can see the front of Port Orleans Riverside here, off to the left:
The bridge to the right:
Looking across the river:
Coming towards the hub of the resort (where much of the activity takes place, and the food court is – the arcade is on the left):
Surrey bikes – I get here at 9:29am:
Boats docked:
Some drawings by kids:
One of the number of bridges that leads across the river – that is where I’ll be going eventually:
Carriage rides leave from this area nightly as well:
