Old Key West Walk – Part I
Here is part one of the Old Key West walk! Old Key West is my favorite (as far as theming and villa size) of all the DVC resorts.
I have stayed here several times, but I have not walked the path to Downtown Disney/Saratoga Springs previously. The front desk has a walking map. The only downside to that pathway is the maintenance vehicles, there were quite a few!
My day started at Olivias – I made a 7:30am breakfast reservation (arriving late, but it wasn’t busy). The food and atmosphere are great! I did the walk between Olivias and Downtown Disney once fully before timing it.
I had pancakes, with fruit instead of bacon (there actually is a side of pancakes not on the menu, I should have had that – this was too much!)
I started the walk outside of the DVC Ferry sign (outside Olivias) at 9:27am.
From here, there is a bridge we are going over – which is in view here:
This is the view along the bridge, heading over to Peninsular Road:
I passed by these villas:
The canal is on the left hand side (there is no sidewalk on that side):
More villas on the right:
The canal is still on the left side:
I passed here at 9:37am:
And across the crosswalk at 9:35am:
The turn towards the walking path is near this bus stop:
And that turn takes us between buildings 53 and 56:
You’ll get to this divide just after the pool on the left hand side (we will go to the left, that is where the trail is):
And turning onto the path:
I made it to the first bridge at 9:46am:
The bridge to the old Disney Institute Treehouses is blocked (I really miss them!)
And continuing towards Saratoga Springs:
I made it here, to where you can veer off either to Downtown Disney or Saratoga Springs at 9:49, 22 minutes after I left the DVC ferry sign.
